I believe you are aware that Nigeria as a nation
recently celebrated her 54th anniversary. It was wonderful, though
not a jamboree like the earlier ones. If anything, at least we are cutting down
on the euphoria of age. After all, age is nothing but a number, right? There
was no elaborate celebration to celebrate the day unlike the preceding years
where giant national cakes were cut with parades in the capital city. It was a
normal day only mentioned in whispers and media houses who were only obliged to
remember such day and probably businesses who only exploited the day are worth
a mention. In the lives and mind of the average Nigerian working like a possessed
laborer just enough to be broke, the day meant nothing. I don’t blame him. With
age, you expect wisdom. However, we have learnt the hard way that old age is
not tantamount with wisdom. Well, with experience yes but experience does not
always translate into wisdom. Does it? So let me use this medium to say happy
belated Independence Day. I have this staunch believe that the next time I will
get to say that to you, we will indeed have cause to holler it and be happily
justified. It is a dream I hold tenaciously to. You should too. We have just
one country, don’t we? Let’s together make it worthwhile. I believe in friends,
in you, in the country. Do you?

The Future Is No Time Zone
Voila! I’m back again. It’s good to be back. How are
you? Me? I am fine, thanks for asking. How was your week?
I have been itching to talk with you. I missed you.
Don’t mind me. I am quite the emotional type. Now here we are. So what do we
talk about today?
So, where should we head today? Let’s do a little bit
of politics today. After all, a lot is happening in our country that demand we
talk about. From there on, we will move on to something interesting that burns
in my heart.

NOT GUILTY - I LOVE BEING ME!
Hey guyz. How do you do? I am fine. Thanks for asking.
I am obliged to narrate an ordeal. Mind if I do? Thank you.
You see, 2face alongside MI in there song, ‘Nobody’
said and I quote “If nobody talks about
you, then you are nobody - whether na truth or na lie them dey talk”. True
enough? By the way, the song was beautiful.
Well, I am me and here I am, before the court waiting
to be judged.
Here comes the court clerk, her grace on his heels. ‘All
stand!’ the clerk bellows. I almost wilted.
Gotham City - Africa
Gotham City - Africa
An imagistic and prophetic song by legendary American musician,
Robert Kelly which popularized such a euphoric place that very much sounds like
paradise! It exceedingly inspires me to mull of such a city. Permit me to quote
the lyrics as I progress.
I’m looking over the
skyline of the city, how loud quiet nights in the mist of crime. How next door
to happiness lives sorrow and signals of solution in the sky
Robert Kelly was vaguely providing a microscopic observation
of Africa.

It's All About You
Thank you.
This conversation shall be about you. Yes, you heard
me. You! Who else is there to dedicate a conversation to if not you? You are
all I’ve got!
So let’s not waste precious time and get to it already.
Often times you wonder why you have to go through one
accident or the other. It is only right to feel let down by physical, mental
and spiritual forces. After all, we exist only in these three, right? Through these
struggles, you realize you are nothing but a pawn on a chess board at the
expense of the chess master (s). Some of us are knights, some kings, some
queens, and some nobles while some are just ordinary plain expendable men. We
call them average these days, mind you. Since they have rejected being called
ordinary, we can only pacify their wounded egos. I fall under this category.
